You are bidding on a working and extremely rare 1942 Philco Model 42KR5 clock radio for vintage refrigerator. This vintage tube radio was made by Philco in the USA in 1942. It has a very unusual cabinet with a curved bottom that is designed to sit securely on the curved top of a refrigerator of that period (see last photo). The radio uses five octal and loctal tubes (see photo of label) and tunes the standard AM band. It also incorporates a clock with a matching dial face. This particular 42KR5 is in excellent cosmetic condition. It has the original paint and the original knobs. It also has the original back. The clear plastic dial covers for both the radio and clock are original and undamaged (see photos). The cord may have been replaced for safety at some point before I got this radio nearly 25 years ago. This radio is working well although the tuning knob slips slightly. It has a very good sound and good sensitivity. The radio dial lights read more
