Vintage Pilot's Award Plaque Major Ralph D. Albertazzie 1254th Air Transport Wing Special Air Missions: You are viewing a vintage brass on wood wall plaque honoring Major Ralph D. Albertazzie, Aircraft Commander for "Special Air Missions" 1254th Air Transport Wing, Military Air Transport Service, IN RECOGNITION OF FAITHFUL AND LOYAL SERVICE JUL 1957 - JUL 1962". Major Albertazzie flew President Richard Nixon on Air Force 1 to China on the first U.S. flight to China, in 1974. He lived about 100 miles from my town and some of his things were sold in an estate sale. The plaque is in good shape, but it has a flaw on the front, which might polish off. There is an emblem attached to the plaque, which represents the 1254th Air Transport Wing and shows an eagle in front of the Earth and the motto Experto Crede. The plaque measures 11 5/8" x 8 5/8" and is about 7/8" thick. Winning bidder will pay shipping listed below. Please be sure to read my detailed description and ask questions before you bid. I will be glad to hear from you and answer any questions you might have. I don’t sell outside the Continental U.S. Please respect this. Good luck and thanks for looking.
