is a very fine (not costume) demiparure pin and earring set which came out of an elderly lady's estate. The earrings are marked with patent 156452. The patent number indicates the date that the clip mechanism went into production, which would date these earrings to 1949 and earlier. Jewelry companies such as Pennino, Sherman, Ballou, and Jomaz, used this same patent number on their earring clip mechanisms, which indicates to me that this is a high quality demiparure set. (this can be verified if you type in "patent number 156452" in your search engine.) T is a hallmark on the reverse of the pieces, but I cannot make it out. The clip back earrings are an inch long. Gold swirls from the sides of the petals around until it reaches the tips of the flower petals. This gold appears to be either gold-fill or gold electroplate. Each moveable stamen on each flower of the earrings is gold; t are 7 stamens on each flower. Each stamen is tipped with a rhinestone, with colors of pink, blue, green, yellow, clear, and a turquoise colored stone. All stones are corner set and pronged. The earring's flower petals are of a light pink pearlized color. Clip mechanisms works great, everything is in excellent condition. Very solid pieces. The pin is 3 inches at it's longest point. Gold swirls from the sides of the petals around until it reaches the tips of the flower petals. Again, the gold appears to be either gold-fill or electroplate. T are 14 gold moveable stamens each holding a pronged rhinestone in colors of pink, clear, blue, green, yellow, turquoise. The pin's flower petals are of a medium pink pearlized color. The pin also has a mark which cannot be decipd. Pin locks securely, in excellent condition. Very solid piece. Regrets that I cannot pinpoint who created this fine artistry - it is truly a lovely set.
