Vintage Pink Working Motorola Radio 55L5U - HS-509Item Name: Model 55L5U Radio Country of Origin USA Maker Motorola Date Manufactured 1956 Description Nice find from a recent estate. Radio when plugged in with original cord tunes in stations as clear as a bell. Radio has interesting handle that also apparently doubles as an antenna. The inside has original label as shown in photos. It marked Model 55L5U with Chassis HS-509. It has a serial number of 4455. Wonderful pink color leattte and metal case with great retro styling. A wonderul old radio for use as is or for restoration. Dimensions
Radio box is 10.25" x 6.5" x 2.5" (On/Off Volume knob & Tuning Dial extend forward slightly in front)Antenna / Handle extends 8" x 2" x .75" at top Condition
Radio is in used condition with some light soiling to pink cover. The clear plastic tuning dial has some discoloration which you may or may not be able to be removed. I think you would have to remove dial to try this properly which I wouldn't attempt. The dial also does not lie flat which doesn't appear to effect tuning. You can see these things in the pictures. T are two cracks in the clear plastic the covers the golden grill. On at 3 and 5 o'clock from on/off knob. The golden edge/trim that seperate the 2 halves of the radio is loose at the top right corner. You wouldn't notice this unless the radio is open. Pictures should show tell story well. Please email me with any questions.Additional photos below text Payment: I expect payment within 5 days of the auction ending. I take Paypal. Contact me with questions about other payment options. Frequently Asked Questions: Because of the wide range of items I offer I am generally not an expert in any particular field. I try to describe items accurately and honestly. I have 100% feedback so bid with confidence. Please ask questions if unsure about item.Measurements are approximate. If I perceive an odor on a item I will indicate it in my ad (this is the #1 question I get).I don't end auctions early unless I have made an error that can't be fixed in my listing so Buy It Now inquiries are unnecessary.I have had a number of emails telling me that their computer or some other unforeseen event prevented them from last minute bidding and they were willing to pay more than the winning bid. I will always honor winning bidder so these inquiries are also unnecessary. Bid early and bid often. Shipping I will combine shipping if you win multiple auctions when possible to lower shipping cost. If items are large, combining items does not always lower cost but usually t is a significant savings. If you win more than one auction, I will invoice you with a combined shipping cost. If you have won a auction and plan on bidding on a upcoming auction and want to wait to combine shipping I would be happy to do that if you let me know after you win the first auction. Shipping prices are calculated by your zip code in the United States. I use the United States Post Office for Shipping. I generally offer two options for shipment. Parcel Post (in the US) or Priority Mail but I will ship media mail if it is a book, record, etc... or First Class Parcel if parcel is 13oz or less. I will ship internationally. Just email me for a shipping quote. Mailing internationally can be expensive. If the total weight of the package is under 4 lbs then I may be able to send First Class International which is cheaper but you can not track or purchase insurance with this option Insurance Insurance is optional. If the item comes with the original box it will be mailed inside of another box. Fragile items will be well protected with bubble wrap, foam, or other protective wrapping. Without insurance however buyer assumes shipping risk. All auctions have No Reserve. Please check out all my other auctions currently running. You may be interested in...
