For sale is a Large Vintage Pottery/Ceramic Turkey in a Basket Casserole Dish with Lid, from the Tlaquepaque/Tonala Region of Mexico. The body of the casserole measures 10-3/4 inches across (handles not included,) and the entire casserole measures 8 inches high to the top of the tail. Condition is very good though there are many manufacturing flaws such as glaze; pops, skips and runs, common with this primitively made pottery. There are some glaze chips on the edge of the tail and a shallow pottery chip on the rim of the casserole. This piece probably dates to the 1940's or 1950's.
