Vintage Primitive Handmade Star Quilt/Cutter?

Offered for auction as a "cutter"is a very primitive star-patterned patchwork quilt that I have had in my personal collection for about 8-10 years. Unfortunately after laundering this wonderful quilt the naturally dyed multicolored fabrics "bled" or ran together causing damage and some breakage to the quilt. Also noted is some slight overall "fuzz" breakthrough of the filler. I feel that it is still quite useful decoratively or for possibly reuse in a special craft project. It has an extremely pleasant artistic vintage appeal. (I find this item extemely difficult to describe but am offering my honest observations in the best way possible.) Emails or any input from a viewer of this listing are very welcome. Sized at approximately 73" x 64" and entirely hand-pieced and hand-quilted at approximately 5/6 stitches per inch. The backing is natural unbleached muslin which also binds the quilt on three sides by hand sewing; a fourth side shows stitching together with antique white and indigo blue thread possibly done on a treadle sewing machine. Except for this side it is entirely handmade. Forty-two (42) blocks measuring 7.5" and bordered with 2.25" bands and 2.5" corner blocks create this interesting antique textile. The batting is thick with cotton seeds still visible. The backing shows some small aging discolorations. The bordered blocks are a solid sienna or cinnamon color and the corner blocks a light brown. Many natural indigo colored prints and reds are used throughout this piece. I do not know th actual age or origin of my quilt but was told by an experienced textile specialist that this quilt was possibly from an Indian reservation due to its primitive star design, colors and naturally dyed fabrics. I feel that the right owner may be able to restore this beautiful primitive textile. It weighs about 5# unpackaged. I will pay the shipping by Priority Mail, insured and with delivery confirmation as a holiday gift. Offered without a reserve at a low starting bid. Thank you for viewing this very interesting quilt!
