This beautiful decanter was part of my mother's extensive collection of amethyst glass. I do not know the age but much of her amethyst glass goes back to the 50's or 60's or even before. It is marked "EMPOLI - ITALY" on the bottom. It measures about 9" tall including the stopper. The base measures just a little over 2 3/4" in diameter. It must have contained an alcoholic beverage at one time because the writing on the bottom says "FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALE OR RE-USE OF THIS BOTTLE." The bottom is also stamped "CAT R-44." There are no chips or cracks. This is a stunning piece. The glass is a beautiful rich shade of amethyst. I will gladly combine shipping if you are interested in more than one of my listings.
