This auction is for a fantastic looking vintage set of 2 Puukko Kauhava knives (knife) in a leather sheath. Doing a little research on the net brings me to believe that these were manufactured in Finland in the 1920's or 1930's. The larger knife measures approx. 7 1/4" overall with the blade alone measuring 3 3/4". The smaller knife measures approx. 4 1/4" overall with a 2 1/8" blade. The leather sheath measures 6 1/4" not including the attached strap. I'm not sure how to grade knives, but I don't see how they could be in better shape. I see no flaws other than a little wear and t I have included 12 pictures so please "SuperSize" them and I think you will agree they are in mint condition. The leather sheath is also in mint condition and the knives fit perfectly inside it. I tried to show some closeups of the engraving on the blades. The engraving is nice and deep but it is in script and hard to read. I do see "Made in Finland" and the word "Kauhava" on the larger blade. T also appears to be the word "Alpa" and maybe "Arrha". T is engraving in the blood groove but I am not certain what it reads. If a Puukko collector out t can furnish me with any additional information I will add it to the Ebay description. Shipping in the USA wil be via US Priority shipping at a flat charge of $10.00 and this includes the cost of insurance and handling. International shipping would be at the actual cost to ship and insure. I accept Paypal, Bidpay, cashiers checks or postal money orders.
