Stunning Vintage Pygmalion Sonata, Compact No. 21 Piano Powder Compact & box This auction is for a stunning Pygmalion Sonata Compact No. 21 in very good condition considering its age - circa 1954. It is in the shape of a grand piano with engine turned decoration, which opens to reveal the powder compartment, covered by a sieve. The original powder puff is present which is pink and very clean and soft. It needs a firm hand to shut the catch. Its legs fold under. It is marked on the top of the inside cover "Pygmalion MADE IN ENGLAND" and it is also marked with some numbers that I can't make out at the side of the mirror. There are a few faint short black scuffs on the top in some lighting but I haven't tried cleaning so these may come off; likewise underneath looks a slightly darker colour and may benefit from some careful cleaning. It comes with a pouch (not the original which was piano shaped), and its original box which has come away at the corners, top and bottom and has a couple of tears on the edges / side.
