The reason I can date the knife to this period is because in 1960 Queen management decided they would.cease stamping on the blade tang and instead etch the information on the front of the main blade to save money. The blades are called Queen Steel but actually they are just are just 440C stainless steel produced by Queen with their proprietary method. They claim the steel is just as good and held an edge just as good as high carbon steel did. The horizontal striations you see on both blades are just a residual coating from the polishing paste. The pen blade looks to be used some as it appears to be sharpened one time. There are numerous scratches on the front side of the blade caused by poor sharpening technique. Both blades make a very good "thump" on open. The clip blade has good snap on close but the pen blade doesn't. Handles are a dark brown and tan Winterbottom bone in excellent condition with no cracks, splits
