This quilt was handmade. T are about 6 stitches to the inch. The stitching is nice and even. It is all cotton, medium weight. I believe it is from the first quarter of the 2oth century or perhaps as late as the 1930's. The prints are feedsack fabrics as far as I can tell. It measures 80" long by 64" across. I photographed it on top of my queen size bed, so that gives you an idea of the size as well. This came from an estate. A middle-aged woman said it had belonged to her grandmother, but was not sure if her grandmother was the maker. She thought perhaps her great-grandmother had made it. The condition is very good. The stitching is intact. I have shown you a couple of photos of the back and I hope you can see the stitches. T are no tears, rips, holes or frays that I can find. However, the white fabric has yellowed. It is freshly laundered and yet t are some yellowish spots, see photo #5. They do not show up a lot, and I think you quilt folks out t have the laundry-room secrets to whiten this up, if desired. All in all, it is just lovely for its age and has an amazing pattern! I am only an email away so please ask questions before bidding. Thanks for looking and most of all HAVE FUN !! WHAT DO YOUR LOVED ONES COLLECT? IT'S NOT TOO EARLY TO THINK ABOUT HOLIDAY GIFTS!
