From Cheyenne, Wyoming estate w/ quite a few UP railroad items [its not UP marked] VINTAGE [Probable] UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD 64" LONG WOOD TRACK [side to side] SUPERELEVATION GAUGE -- has the initials "AD" stamped in the wood @ the gauge end ~~ looks like it was shop made w/ factory made cast iron components ~~ the adjustable measuring end has a stylized pine tree trade mark and "1536" or "1586" ~~ the tail end protector part has the number "1585" [the heavy duty cast iron components were probably sold as a set & put together w/ the board in the RR shop] ~~ has Stanley bubble level that works in the center ~~ the up/down measurement part moves freely & the locking thumbscrew secures the sliding part - if this gauge could tell us what its seen & where it been!!! see: /Gauges/index.asp [one being sold new today]see: /Museum/Ephemera/track_level.html [museum example] By bidding on this used item the buyer accepts all responsibilityfor any accident, injury, illness or, property damage to his or her person or other persons resulting from the use, abuse or misuse of this item.
