Lamp is on a long brass chain which measures Approx 12 Feet Cord has a switch to turn on a soft glow perfect for any room. Motor is very quiet lamp looks great. Uses Mineral Oil ~ Lamp has Serial No. 337495 Made by Johnson Industries. In 1957, Darrel Johnson formed Johnson Industries in Los Angeles, California, a company that made rain lamps.On September 11, 2004, Darrell Johnson, the inventor of the rain lamp died in San Diego, California at Balboa Naval Hospital. How rain lamps work The oil droplets that course down the stands at regular intervals are not controlled by any dispensing mechanism other than gravity.
