Vintage rattan and reed bamboo five piece dining set. Made by CALIF-ASIA Los Angeles California, dates to the late 1960's or early 1970's. Includes table which has two sizes 36 inches square or slide and flip hinge makes it a 72 by 36. Also has a storage box inside. Table tops are hardwood birch, varnish is ok but not perfect, no damage. Table stands 30 inches high. Construction is old growth large bamboo with rattan strapping throughout all pieces. Box on table has a masonite bottom.Chairs and cushions are part of a matching set, Four chairs this auction consist of one arm and three sides. This table will seat six when folded out.This is not a Pier One imports cheap set, the units are very sturdy with reed strapping, has steel feet on each leg, cushions are cotton fabric with beaded edging. All cushions are excellent except one which has a tear in the back side. Note the arm chair backrest cushion is not available, will require replacement. Pictures show a cotton backrest, it is damaged. All other seat and backrests ok.Condition of chairs and table are excellent, almost perfect. All cushions are very good. See all the pics.
