Vintage RCA Radiola Model 18 Works Mahogany Case Beauty Vintage 1927 RCA Radiola Model 18 radio in working condition. The case on this radio is in very good to excellent condition with some surface scratches and t However, once we polished the case, it really brought out the graining in the mahogany, and became a real looker. The scratches and imperfections you see in the photos really stand out due to the flash from the camera. Looking at the radio with the naked eye, you do not see any of the scratches. The mahogany front has a great appearance with the banded inlay and t is no damage to the case. The original cloth cord has lost its cloth covering, and any exposed or bare wires were covered with black electrical tape. Despite the damage to the cord, we decided to plug it in to see if it would just light up the tubes, never thinking it would work. We hooked the radio up to an Atwater Kent Model E speaker and to our amazement, the radio does work, pulling in a local station quite readily with no hum. The power cord probably should be replaced in order to ensure safe operation. In addition to the power cord, t are two sets of wires coming out of the rear of the radio. The longer set is for the speakers and the shorter set are acting as antennae. The only minor defect is the cover to the light bulb in front is missing and the light bulb is not present. Both should be easily replaceable or leave the radio as is. The radio is quite heavy - 48 pounds and measures 27" long by 8" deep and 9" tall. Please keep the weight and size in mind for shipping costs and it will be very carefully packages to ensure safe delivery. As always, local pick-up is available. Don't miss out on this opportunity to purchase this vintage RCA Radiola Model 18 that is working!
