Lot of Early 1930s Reading Railroad Inventory-related Documents Thanks for checking out my listing! Be sure to look at all of the pictures and information below by scrolling down through the entire gray section. Description I obtained this lot of documents at auction from items owned by a former employee of the Interstate Commerce Commission in Washington, DC. The Railroad likely provided these documents to the federal government to keep on file. The following documents are included in this lot: - A two-page letter dated March 28, 1932 from Reading Company's Valuation Officer in response to a data request from the ICC. - Eight 8 1/2" x 14" page inventory of freight train cars "ON HAND DEC. 31, 1931, RENUMBERED SUB. TO JUNE 30, 1917" -One 8 1/2" x 14" page of freight cars on hand from the Reading and Columbia Railroad Co. -One 8 1/2" x 14 sheet of passenger train cars on hand from the Atlantic Railroad Co. -Thirty 11" x 17" sheets listing the value of all of the Railroad's property. These are ICC Bureau of Valuation forms filled out by the Railroad. The sheets are broken down into the following sub-catagories: Steam Locomotives (further broken down into freight service, passenger service, switching service, observation service and extra tenders) Work Equipment (tool cars, pay cars, crane cars, ice cars etc.) Passenger Train Cars (coaches, baggage cars, combination passenger and baggage cars, dining cars, horse care etc. Freight Train Cars (box cars, gondolas, hoppers, cabooses etc. Floating Equipment (tug boats, barges and car floats) - Fourteen 17" x 18" sheets listing "REPAIRS TO STEAM LOCOMOTIVES COVERING DATA FOR LAST TWO GENERAL REPAIRS" -List of locomotives awaiting dismantling dated April 4, 1932 -2 pages listing engines in Reading locomotive shops dated April 4, 1932 -Twenty 8" x 21" forms listing "Employment and Condition of Engines" at 20 different stations' engine houses at 6PM on April 4, 1932 Condition See lot of detail and overall images below.
