I am offering for sale a beautiful Regency art glass brooch. The brooch has the original store price tag still attached to it from a Furchgott's department store. Originally the brooch cost $10 but was litterally slashed to $5.00. Probably fairly pricey in the late forties early fifties which is what era this appears to have come from. The brooch is composed of petals of opaque white and pale blue art glass. Beneath them are pale green leaves. Above the pale blue and white petals are marquis cut rhinestones in blue milkglass and in facetted medium blue. The marquis cut stones are prong set in closed back sets. The very center of the flower is a blue tinted round barouque style pearl cabochon. It is held in place by a multi prong setting The back of the brooch is a gold textured covered back that clamps onto the mesh base that all of the hand wiring is attatched to for the art glass work of the brooch. The back of the brooch has a oval cartouch with the word Regency in it. The tag from the department store is attached to the pin back. I have left it on as I find it a whimsical addition to the brooch. The brooch has no chips or cracks. it measures 2 3/4" and is breath takingly beautiful with the light shining on it.
