Up for auction with no reserve is this vintage original VW Bug Bomb built model kit from the early 1970's for parts, restoration or display as-is. This was from a series of wild creations released by Revell and designed by cartoonist Dave Deal in the early 1970's. Most all of the other ones have since been re-issued and seem to be fairly common. As far as I can tell, this one has never been re-issued. I don't know why because it looks like one of the coolest ones in the series and VW's are always popular. Perhaps a licensing dispute with VW?As can be seen in the pictures, the trunk lid was broken and has been re-glued with epoxy. You may also note the bottom of that piece also has a small section broken off and is missing. I would think it would be fairly simple to even that out to at least look more uniform. The rear section of the chassis was also broken off and re-glued, but it is hardly noticeable. The original axels were broken so replacements were fabricated out of parts sprues. The car is missing the stinger exhaust, one of the rallye lights, side mirror, rear trunk latch and the inside section of one of the rear tires. Everything else is original, in good shape and has never been painted. The model is about 4 ½" long and approximately 4 ¾' wide, measured at the rear wheels.
