This Columbia Silverplate serving piece is a vintage piece of flatware. Measures: 9 1/2" long x 2 1/2" at the widest part of the fork. I believe this is a PIE FORK Designed for the Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893. Has the design of a Sea Serpent with a dragon-like tongue. Very ornate and collectible. Marked on the back with ROGERS & BROS A No monogram - t are light scratches on the front and back - no gouges or pits, and at the very tip of the fork t is a little fold of some of the plating - (not sure how to describe this, as it isn't actually bent - please see the scan) Some silver wear to the center. The design is a little worn down on the lower half of the handle. The Sea Serpent design on the upper half of the handle is still bold and beautiful. Contact me with any questions.
