Up for auction is this Vintage Roller Organ Home Music Box with 28 Cob Rolls. This piece has been passed down in our consigner's family. She can remember her grandparents having it and her father playing it when she was little. We are unsure of the maker and the age of the organ. We are not experts on this type of item. We have turned the crank handle and verified that all of the finger valves on the front are moving and the the crank and gear mechanism works. The crank also moves the double bellows underneath the unit. The rear bellows can be depressed and spring back. The two strips of material that cover the holes on the bottom are no longer covering the holes completely (due to age, we think they are dried out). This prevents the air from being forced through the reeds on the player. This roller organ measures 14.25" x 12.5" x 12" and weighs approximately 9 lbs. Included with the Organ are 28 music rolls called cobs. The stickers on the side of the cobs that tell what songs they play have been worn so that they are no longer legible. The cobs have been stored in a old finger jointed wooden crate that is also included in this auction. The box measures 13" x 11" x 7" it weighs approx 10 lbs with 27 of the cobs inside.
