This pair of extremely good quality, 7 x 50, 'Steplux' binoculars were made by Ross of London , and come with the original leather carrying case. They are similar in design to the military pattern, but were made for general use such as racing and fieldwork. Although the optics are top quality, producing a clear and detailed 7 X image, they are a bit dusty on the inside, and the alloy objective ring-frame (not the main body) of the set is somewhat corroded in places. The cleaning and restoration of this set would be fairly easy, as they are not gas-filled, making dismantling and reassembling a simple process. The original leather case also needs some attention, as the closing strap is missing and the leather has dried out a little, making the binos fit too tightly. The leather needs to be softened and stretched, then the set will fit better than it does at present. They are such a good pair, that this restoration would be well worth the comparatively little effort required if you have the time. I have been asked how much it would be to post these to Germany. The airmail postage would be £12. This also applies to any other country in Europe.
