RARE ~ HARD TO FIND ~ Vintage ARMADILLO Deep Dish Recipe PIE PLATE Dish/Pan, Made by Royal China Co. of Sebring, Ohio, USA This plate is a great collectible, with little brown armadillos around the rim, a picture of an armadillo in the bottom of the plate, underneath which reads "ARMADILLO PIE", with the recipe, surrounded by a garland of little flowers. Though this recipe calls for Armadillo meat, (which may be rather hard to find...LOL), it can easily be substituted for chicken or turkey to make a scrumptious pot pie. This plate is stamped on the back, with the crown logo, under that reads," Royal China Co. SEBRING, OHIO, CONVENTIONAL AND MICROWAVE OVEN APPROVED DISHWASHER SAFE USA". It measures 11" across the top rim and stands 1 3/4" tall. ***Please note ~ This particular pie plate, while in overall good condition for its age, was not a displayed only piece ~ it has seen occasional use. While it has no chips or real cracks, there are some fine crazing marks on the bottom interior of the plate. Some of these have become slightly discolored, presenting themselves as light brown marks. They really do not take away much if any from the appearance, and I have adjusted my price accordingly. Just please look at my pictures to judge for yourself their significance prior to purchase.
