Vintage pair of Birds Royal Copley Spaulding Light blue and maroon head and brown Bird Figurine looking down on stump that is gray measures 4" long by 5" tall bird looking down I don't feel or see imperfection no chips and Next bird is in flight wings outstretched Brown and hint of Yellow Measures about 4 ½ " long and 5 " tall I see and feel a small chip on tail tip is noted The bottom pen writing to a friend hard to read Original Black and gold stickers on both SPAULDING CHINA affixed to the bottom of the gray stump under bird in flight and on the stump of the other bird looking down No chips no cracks in excellent condition the usual level of crazing for pottery of this age. Since the glaze was hand airbrushed on each figure by the ladies that worked in the Sebring, Ohio factory in the 1940's and early 1950's no two pieces are exactly alike Royal Copley and Spaulding birds and later ducks and other figure can be found in many hues. Originally, you could buy them at the dime store. Made in the United States by the Spaulding China Company of Ohio .
