Vintage Royal Winton SUN DIAL Trio - Cottage Chic

Absolutely gorgeous and so romantic vintage Royal Winton cup, saucer and plate in the very seldom seen Sun Dial pattern. This stunning set would probably date to the 30s or 40s and is in the early Athena shape (I think). The transfer is of a meandering stone path amidst a riot of pink flowering cherry or appleblossom trees,a cottage garden of towering blue delphiniums, foxgloves and roses as well as the cute sundial from which the pattern takes its name.
The trio is in outstanding condition and t are no chips, cracks, staining or repairs. T is no wear to the handpainted green and gilt trim or to the pie crust edge of the plate. All pieces are backstamped Royal Winton Grimwades England and have the words "Sun Dial" in blue cursive script. This is vintage Winton and not a modern copy. This is one of the prettiest of the non chintz Winton transfers and one of the hardest to find. I have several pieces in this pattern I will be listing over the coming weeks. A wonderful addition to any collection of vintage ceramics or to display or just to use for afternoon tea. Please email me with any questions you may have.
