Vintage Royal Winton "Sweet Pea" Chintz Demitasse Cup and Saucer. This demitasse cup and saucer are vintage in beautiful condition for their age. The gilding is intact; no chips or cracks but with some normal crazing for pieces of this vintage. They are truly beautiful, with colors crisp and bright. If you've encountered "Sweet Pea" before, you know the impact this pattern has. It almost takes your breath away, with beautiful rose, yellow, and blue sweet peas depicted on a pale yellow ground. Green stems and leaves, of course. The interior of the cup is in perfect condition. I don't think anyone has ever used it for drinking a beverage, but you could! Or you might want to display it on your dainty bureau with your other chintz or pastel collectibles. By the way, the top of the saucer is fully covered with the chintz pattern and it alone is eye-popping. You will not find another "Sweet Pea" demitasse cup and saucer anyw else, so act fast. Note: I have listed one other piece of "Sweet Pea" today; it's a darling little jam pot, also quite rare. Check it out. Size: Saucer is 4.75 inches across. Cup is 2 and 3/8 inches high; mouth of cup is 2.75 inches across, and to the tip of the handle is 3.5 inches. Condition: Vintage, in very good condition; all known issues described above.
