What a visual delight is this bottle / decanter! In the deepest ruby red, varying depths of a honeycomb pattern within creates hundreds of tiny honeycomb when viewed in the light. In life it is much superior to the photo given. T is very little design to the outside of the bottle, it is smooth with just a faint outline of the inner honeycomb and t is a thumbprint design circling the neck. The stopper is vertically ribbed in a swirl. A doubly molded '8' is marked on the bottom, but t are no other marks. The bottom looks to be of double thickness. (please see photo). It is 10-1/2" tall including stopper, and 6" at the widest part of the bottle. This bottle has been called Wheaton Glass in a previous ebay post, but I could not verify this with any examples in any glass book I have. Although fairly heavy, it seems too fine for what Wheaton glass I have seen. I have owned this fascinating decanter bottle for over 20 years and it was not purchased new. Other than that period of time, I have no idea of its age. This item will be double boxed for shipment by a professional shipper.
