Vintage Russel Wright Chartreuse Relish Dish American Modern pattern Highly collectible mid century modern dishes Russel Wright's American Modern by Steubenville Pottery, Ohio, remains the best selling dinnerware in the history of pottery sales. Its breakthrough design and beautiful, often mottled glazes, appealed to consumers so much that they often stood in long lines at department stores to purchase the items. The beginning of open stock, shoppers were encouraged to mix colors, and collect more to complete their service. The dinnerware was produced from 1939-1959, and is now exhibited in museums as exemplary design . The Relish dish with Reed Handle is somewhat rare Condition : No chips, cracks, or repairs. The reed handle WRAP (not the handle) is noticeably broken âe" have not tried to repair it (see photo #2). As is typical of Russel Wright, the color has minor variations , like lighter & darker at edges. Some crazing and speckles - too faint to show in photograph.
