S. Karpen & Bros. Upholstered Furniture Settee Karpen & Bros. furniture Settee. I have 8 of these for sale in 7 feet to 8 feet long. This piece is 8 foot long and 24 inches from front of arm to back of seat. They are nice sturdy hand made wood Lodge pieces that were made in between 1911 and 1915. The material on the rear of all will need replaced as they have gotten brittle and are tearing. The actual fronts the backs of seats and bottoms of seats are all in pretty good condition some of the bottom cushions have came loose on the middle seams. I think they have all been recovered at one time and are not the original leather. The seat springs all seem in good shape. T are some minor dings on the wood from being used for years. All in all these are beautiful pieces of furniture. They all have the Karpen Guaranteed Furniture Brass Tag and alll have the same order number lables on the bottoms with the lengths of that particular Settee. I would say they should all be recovered and refinished to look like new again. This will be up to the new owner...These came out of the Elk's Lodge in Waterloo , Iowa as they are remodeling. I am selling All Settes "as is" and would recommend recovering with leather upholstery. These were available in oak or mahogany. I think these are oak...look at the pictures.
