This auction is for a "Salvaged Vintage Tile by "S & S" Tile company of San Jose (Solon & Schemmel). In the motif of a Dove (I think it's a dove) in relife, surrounded by a ring and 2 chili peppers at opposing corners.The face of this tile is in very good condition, no real cracks or repairs, though t is about 1/2 inch chip on the upper right side of this tile reasonably shallow, barely through the glaze dripped over the edge. The backround glaze is in a very soft pink ,being the clay used for this tile is brick red, I would think they just used a white translucent glaze and an opaque white glaze for the ring, chili's and clover leafs the surround the dove. All of the glaze is very hi gloss and in excellent condition . As to the condition of the reverse, t is NO Cicular Impressed Stamp. The upper and lower reverse edges have been hand beveled, for the original use, and t is a patch of morter attached to those edges. Please!
