This is a vintage SAFA/Horni fire alarm street box. SAFA stands for Superior American Fire Alarm Co. It is made of Aluminum. The alarm box looks to be complete, it has the original shunt key that's embossed "Horni" and the plastic cover over the mechanism that's embossed SAFA, it has the connector on top if you want a light. When you pull the handle the box runs and The box number is 1612, the code wheel and the number plate match.This box was from a pedestal in the Philadelphia area, there is small hole drilled in the corner of the small white door to put a bolt in which Philadelphia used to do to prevent false alarms.The paint is flaking off, the bottom has metal plate added with some holes in it which was used to attach it to the pedestal and run the wires. There is no glass in the front white door. The small winding knob inside has part of it broken off. There is minor damage around the 2 small screw holes in back where it was attached to the pedestals backing plate.There is no key and I will ship with the lock off and pack inside so you can open it.Weight 23 lbs.17" x 12 1/2" x 7"Any questions please ask.
