Nice old hawkbill sailor's rigging pocket knife stamped on the base of the blade RALPH BROWN & CO SAN FRANCISCO . The handles appear to be made of teak wood and the liners and bolsters look like nickel. The knife has had quite a bit of honest use over time. The blade has some pitting, scratching, small nicks on the blade edge and tarnish. The handles have scratches but are perfect otherwise. The blade opens into position with a commanding snap with no wobble when open. It meaures 7 5/8" open and the blade is about 3 1/4" long . I am estimating the age of this knife at around 1900 based on construction and not being able to find a recent knife maker by that name. T have never been that many production knife makers in San Francisco so is one to add to your collection. I can just imagine the owner using this for many years while sailing on a schooner or frigate. Fourteen day return privilege guaranteed for money back . Buyer pays postage; insurance extra upon request. Paypal, money order or personal check o.k.
