Classic tube stereo produced from the late 60s and early 70s featuring 40 watts per channel from 7591 output tubes which are not included. Needs some minor rewiring or can be used as I did as a basic stereo amplifier. This wonderful amplifier was the front channels for my home theater for about 10 years. I only removed them when I changed to a new surround sound receiver. All of the tubes are included, except the two 12AX7 preamp tubes. I have modified this amplifier to be used as a basic stereo amplifier. I just disconnected a set of wires from one input to the front selector switch and wired them directly to the first stage of the amplifier. This can easily be restored by a competent technician. I will even provide a copy of the schematic diagram. The AM/FM Stereo tuner works just fine, but I am sure it can benefit from an alignment. I replaced the original troublesome voltage doubler rectifiers with good 1N4007 types and an inrush current limiter for trouble free operation. I installed Wonder Cap coupling capacitors for the highest quality sound. I also converted the output tubes to run low loading – auto-bias. I removed the fixed bias connection and added a high value power resistor (750 ohm, 10 watt) and large value Nichicon bypass capacitor (2200 uF) per output tube to allow the tube to self regulate at a very conservative read more
