FROM A 1951 AD: TURQUOISE ROOM is the only private dining room in the world on rails aboard the new SUPER CHIEF. Entertain in the grand manner while en route between Chicago and Los Angeles-in a perfectly appointed private room for a party up to ten. The turquoise room in the new Lounge Car on the new Super Chief is the most distinctive feature ever provided on any train. Glass ashtray 4 inches x 5 inches. Black glass with the logo painted on in turquoise. There are 4 pencil point size scratches on the blue paint, hardly noticeable. From what I've read The Turquoise room was by reservation only and was adjacent to the public dining car. Imagine the prestige of having dinner in this room! Item over sixty years old, came from a local estate. For the train collector or the ashtray collector. Please refer to my photos as they are part of the description.
