This is a beautifully detailed Santon couple. The gentleman is carrying two bundles of wood. One under his arm and one on his back. He also has a hatchet under the other arm. He is wearing a long sleeve shirt with a floral vest, a scarf around his neck and gray cordoroy pants with brown shoes. He also has a floppy black hat covering his long gray hair and is sporting a matching gray mustache. His lady is wearing a long colorful skirt with a white petticoat and pantaloons underneath. She has a white peasant top covered by a blue silk long sleeve blouse. She is wearing a striped apron and a white shawl. She also is wearing a white lacy bonnet which covers her brown hair, and on her back is a large brimmed straw hat. Her shoes are black. She is also carrying a sickle. They measure approximately 12 1/2 inches in height. They appear to be made of clay and are both mounted on a clay base that is signed with the name M. DiLandro. They are clean and in perfect condition with every detail intact. These are clearly a very collectible couple and will make a very special addition to your collection.
