For the collector, user is a very nice hard to find Sargent VBM #407 which would be comparable to the Stanley #2 in size. Has the 1 5/8" iron, sole is a total of 8" long. All parts are original including the "pointy" screws and washers to hold the frog in place. It is marked...Sargent behind the knob on the base, 407 behind the frog on the base, 407 on the underside of the frog, Sargent VBM on the cap iron top, 7 on the bottom of the cap iron, Sargent VBM No. 407 New Haven CT USA on the iron. The iron has 1 3/4" life left, and a small nick to one side, looks barely used. Tote and knob in good condition except for some small dings and varnish coming off. T is a small chip at the very end of the tote at the top. T are a few nicks to the sides and some minor scratches to the sole. Japanning is 90% intact. T is staining to the metal and some minor oxidation thru-out. Please look the photos over closely, questions welcome. No reserve on this item. Thanks for looking.
