Great vintage SAVORY large black speckled enamelware roaster with original rack. When do you ever see one of these that still has the rack??? The rack handles retract for storing or when just being used to keep the meat out of the juices. Handles can be pulled out before the meat is placed on it, lid still fits, so it's easy to raise the food out of the pan to the carving board or serving platter. Savory cookware started in 1911 and advertised it as "Self-basting and self-browning". Looking at the rack, this could go back that far. SAVORY is in raised lettering on one side. Tried to show that the underside and a little on the outside bottom edge has some blistering, not major, seems that it may have been used in an old wood-burning oven? A bit of wear on the handles, pictured. Measures 16 1/2" in length, 19" including handles, 10 3/4" wide, 3 1/2" deep without the rack, and stands 8 1/2" tall with the lid. Still has a bit of burned on grease buildup, not much. Overall this roaster is in wonderful condition, no dents, especially considering the age.
