This auction features Teddy Kapitan made by Steiff. He is a most wonderful large mohair traditional bear, standing at 21 inches tall. Dressed in all wool sailor's beret and jacket with polished brass buttons with nautical anchors and chain and detachable cotton sailor collar complete with mother of pearl buttons. There is gold braiding around the cuffs and a small gold anchor on the beret. He is difinitely dressed to the nines! His name is Sailor Bill and he is based on a 1910-era bear discovered at the Puppenhaus Museum in Basel, Switzerland. Teddy Kapitan is a North American Exclusive Limited Edition of 1,910 pieces. This is number 809 and comes with original letter and certificate.Condition is excellent. He come from a collection of Steiff that we are in the process of selling. Most of his life he was stored safely, away from light and dust. The original storage sack is still with this little guy! Add this fantastic vintage 2005 Steiff to your collection.
