This is a large plug in systems clock. Clock was purchased from government surplus and was used in the CAPITAL BUILDING of the USA!! See sticker. You can go to www.baucus.senate.gov/?p=visitors_capitol and look close to the bottom of the page under "Frequently asked questions" To see what the lights mean. Here is a partial quote from that web sight: "Lights on clocks inside Senate offices correspond with the number of buzzer rings sounded. The red light remains lit at all times while the Senate is in session." (the red light is on the far right between the 2 and 3) The clock is made to be set by radio control from a central unit. Therefor you can not set the clock manually except by waiting till the time shown is correct and plugging the clock in. The clock was tested for a 2 weeks and maintained the correct time. The lights on the clock can be set to turn on 1 to 7 lights or all lights on or off with the test button on the back of the clock. The clock is 14 inches in diameter at the base and the lens is 12 3/4 inches in diameter. The clock has a sweep 2nd hand and is smooth and silent operating. The plastic base is black and the lens is plastic. There are some scratches on the lens otherwise the cosmetic condition of the clock is good. NOTE: some of the lights have came on randomly at my location. I don't know what is triggering read more
