This is a clean vintage used Huret-made Schwinn speedometer drive for 27" front wheels with bolt-on axles (not quick-release hub skewers), a nice long-arm example, in good working order. (The red areas visible in photo 2 are reflections of my red shirt; there is no color on the drive.) Its drive ratio is 1:2.2. This drive is compatible with the chrome Schwinn Approved Huret speedometer and drive cable (not included; see my other auctions for examples of those), as well as Huret-branded bicycle speedometers. This can also be used on 28" front wheels. Huret-branded versions of this same part, with the same output ratio, were labeled as 27"/28" by the factory. (It does not fit the large, round Stewart-Warner speedometers.) The axle hole in the center is 7/16" diameter. The two drive arms have a 4¾" span, each extending 2 3/8" from the center of the axle hole. I'm also including a used original hardware kit, including: One 5/16" axle bushing (silver) Two installation washers , to be used to clear either the axle cone nut or inner fork, as needed (You may or may not need more, depending on your installation.) One double-thickness installation washer (as needed) The drive is in clean, used condition and full working order. I packed it with some fresh grease, and it turns smoothly.
