Nice vintage Scott 299 stereo tube amplifier ca.1960 NR The 299 was Scott’s first “Stereomaster” integrated amplifier, produced from 1958 to 1960. This is the first version of the 299, with the oval Scott logo in center. Uses 11 vacuum tubes and has the cool 3-neon-light status indicator. Measures 15” x 14” x 5” and weighs 24 pounds. Serial number 12044. Condition notes: Electronic: this unit was hooked up to a turntable and speakers a few months ago and worked fine in that capacity. But I did not test all its functions, switch settings, etc. so it is sold AS IS with no guarantee that it is absolutely 100% working. I had no evidence that it was broken. Visual: it was preserved in a dry home, but unfortunately the brown plastic outer layer of the case (vinyl?) decomposed enough to make it sticky! I do not see any dings or scratches to the front panel or case. The original Scott manual is included in this auction. It has a foldout schematic and also a direction sheet for panel-mounting the unit. Winning bidder will pay calculated Priority Mail, Parcel Post, or UPS Ground shipping on this auction.
