Scrappy 100% cotton tied quilt

76" x 90"

Cottage~Cabin~Farmhouse~Country

is another great all cotton early 1900s patchwork quilt. This one is a Monkey Wrench or Hole In The Barn Door pattern in mixed 30s to 50s fabrics. It's a beautiful quilt with lots of color, especially reds and pinks. The pieced blocks alternate primarily with plain muslin, but blocks of solid colors and prints were used around the perimeter. Most of the block fabrics are prints and checks. The backing fabric is a beautiful nile green. The backing was brought to the front to bind the quilt.

T are a few light stains on the quilt. It is old, slightly faded, and used. The quilt shows very little wear. If you're looking for a cutter this one is 100% usable. The quilt is quite lovely when folded if you're looking for a spot of color to add to a stack of old textiles.

This piece is tied all over with white thread at the corners of the blocks. This quilt is not a good candidate for machine washing or regular use.

This will be great covering a porch swing cushion, as a summer blanket at the foot of the guest bed, or as a bed topper in a child's room. If you love the not-quite-shabby, comfy-cozy, handed-down, farmhouse look, this quilt is for you. I used to keep a quilt a lot like this in the car with the lawn chairs for those little league games that went on into the cool of the evening, or those chilly early morning games. Great for picnics or napping babies, too.

I'm parting with this quilt because I'm trying to get my future projects down to a manageable number. My standard procedure when purchasing vintage textiles was to wash it in cold water with perfume/dye free laundry detergent and dry on the lawn or clothesline.

This is a pre-owned vintage item and as such is offered "as-is". I have described this item to the best of my abilities, but I don't know anything about it's previous environments. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding. I answer my mail within a day, usually sooner.

You pay only the actual shipping cost and I am happy to ship items together whenever possible. If you are purchasing multiple items, please contact me before paying for the combined shipping cost. I strive to provide the customer with the best possible service for the money. Be sure to visit my other auctions. Always something interesting! Thank you for looking, and good luck!
