This auction is for a vintage Seth Thomas ships clock and barometer set. The clock is a 1005 Corsair-W E537-000A. It features the screw down top to fight off moisture. It still has the original shipping plastic ring in it as well. I pulled the clock only to get a photo of the original tag on the back. The set is in fantastic cosmetic condition. I lightly polished the exteriors, and they look great. They could probably use a little more cleaning, but I will leave that to the new owner. The glass is perfect in both. The barometer changes daily and seems to work fine. When I bought the set, the previous owner said the clock had worked fine previously, but had not been wound in a few years. I wound it about 4 turns, and it did not start ticking, so it will need to be cleaned most likely. The ships clock works perfectly as it should...1 loud strike at 12;30, 2 at 1:00, and so on. The pair is mounted on what looks like a piece of oak, with a hanger on the back. The faces are both in excellent condition...a few light scratch marks around the key holes. The barometer is marked SETH THOMAS and UNI/MAG MOV'T MANUF. BY TAYLOR INSTRUMENT CO. The clock is marked SETH THOMAS and German Movement. PAYMENT: Paypal only.
