Vintage Pottery Green Stoneware Mixing Bowl USA

***NEW INFORMATION***

Thanks to a knowledgeable eBay member, we now know that this bowl is a Sevilla! The Sevilla line was made by the Cronin China Company of Minerva , Ohio in the mid 30's to early 40 's so I'd say for sure this is at least 75 years old. Many thanks to Beckyee!!!

This is a lovely vintage stoneware mixing bowl. It is 4 ½ inches tall and 9 inches in diameter. It weighs 3 lbs.1½ oz. Shipping weight will of course be a bit more.

There are no cracks. There is a moderate amount of crazing inside, and one small chip on the exterior. There are some small flaws in the finish common with pottery. Even the chip on the outside appears to have been the result of damage to the greenware before the pot was ever fired the first time and then the glaze appeared to have been perhaps weakened in that spot.

It is an attractive soft country green color and is decorated with bands of decoration midway down the bowl and also around the very bottom. In addition there is a line of decoration on the inside rim shows that it was a special bowl from its inception.

This bowl is in very good condition considering its age, makes a lovely piece to display, or is perfectly usable.

The bottom is marked with a name that appears to be in cursive over USA. The S in the USA appears to be just a bit larger than the U and the A but the other name is definitely NOT McCoy or Hull as that might imply. I’ve tried to photograph the bowl in great detail and someone with more knowledge than me about stoneware bowls might recognize the script. I’d love to know! ***See note above!***
