This is a draft-at-home pattern for a stunning French evening or cocktail dress from the 1940's. The gown features a lovely slim silhouette with a short sleeve and open neckline. The long, slim skirt is ornamented with a wide, contrasting sash tied in a large drape at the back.--Recommended fabrics: velvet for the dress, taffeta for the sash.This dress has so many uses. It would make an amazing, show-stopping wedding dress, the perfect evening gown to put others to shame, or a unique and timeless prom dress.This is a pattern from a pattern drafting system fairly similar to the Lutterloh golden rule patterns. You will be able to draft a pattern to your exact size from the miniature pattern template and specially designed rulers. To scale any of these special patterns from doll to children or adult sizes is easy.
