Vintage Shafford BLACK CAT Mirror Pottery ASHTRAY Album Album Album Album Album Vintage Shafford BLACK CAT Mirror Finish Pottery ASHTRAY This is a wonderful small ashtray made in the form of a black cat. It is unmarked but is most likely Shafford - I have a companion cookie jar piece that came from the same estate that is marked Shafford - please view my other auctions in order to see the cookie jar as well as a creamer and sugar set and teapot. This ashtray is painted with red, yellow and green features. It is glazed in a black mirror finish on a red clay body. The ashtray is in very good condition with no chips or cracks but has some paint wear, mostly to the ears. T is also some wear to the glaze on the side, but I think that this is original to the manufacture of the piece as the cat is supposed to be displayed standing upright. The piece measures 3 ¾" by 2 ¼".
