is a vintage ceramic French Bulldog. The pose is absolutely delightful! This is a Frenchie with personality PLUS! On the bottom is the famous Shafford Japan mark. The original mould for this figurine was originated in Denmark by Dahl Jensen. It was later transferred from porcelain to metal and from metal to ceramic. It comes in different sizes. This is one of the larger and more unusual ones measuring 5" H. Shafford figurines have real quality and this dog is no exception. The finish is in a glorious high gloss. Aside from some delicate crazing (that is a sign of age) this figurine is in excellent condition. It was found in an estate sale and was probably made in the 1950s.
