Vintage Shakespeare Standard Professional Casting Reel. On the "Standard Professional" side of the reel are the numbers "23053" The foot is inscribed "1914 Model", "Patented W.S. Jr. CO", "100 Yards" and "Kalamazoo, Mich". It seems like it has close to 100 yards of old line still on it. I wiped it with a cloth but used nothing else to clean it. It will, I'm sure, come cleaner but I didn't want to use anything on it. "Shakespeare" is worn but still readable and there are some scratches in that area. The single grasp wooden handle is undamaged. It has two jeweled endcaps. I can't tell you its exact age but knowing some of its history, it dates from no later than the middle or so of the last century at the latest and probably earlier. Payment is due within three (3) days of the close of the auction and I ship no later than the day after payment is received. I do not ship internationally.
