This antique bread plate is over 100 years old . It has the " Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread motto ". The motto is a raised pattern on the underside of the rim. Please check out the super-size pictures. This plate was first manufactured by the Campbell and Jones Glass Company around 1881-1890's . Laura Ingall's Wilder described a plate like this one in her book about her life experiences on the little house on the prairie. They had bought one as a Christmas gift after seeing it in the Montgomery Ward catalog. The plate survived a fire and was among Rose Wilder Lane's possession after she died.
Condition: The plate up for auction is not a reissue and is in very good condition. It is 12" x 9 1/2". T is some ruff spots around the enter rim, and a couple of miner chips that you have to look for. It has of bubbles and straw marks characteristic of his type of glass. This is a very nice antique piece from my own personal collection. Please take a look at the super-size pictures, and if you have any questions or concerns please email or call me .
