You are bidding on a vintage ship's barometer in the shape of an anvil. It was made by Swift & Anderson Inc. of Boston, Mass. It has an adjusting screw on the back to set to the barometric pressure and an adjustable pointer and read out to determine change. The brass has some patina from age and shows some wear from use. I believe the barometer is fully functional and would make a nice collectable. Please email with any questions. I ship Priority Mail as soon as payment clears.
