I inherited several different items from my father's estate a few years ago and I have finally decided to part with some of them. I will be liquidating many of the items (including a few hundred tobacco pipes) within the next few weeks. I have no idea as to the age/origin of the majority of the items, so I ask that all bidders please place your bid(s) accordingly. I must remind you that all items are being sold 'as is' with no guarantees implied or return privileges being offered. are three more older tobacco pipes from my father's vast collection. I'm listing these together, because they are all of similar size; i.e., I guess you could call them 'pocket' pipes? Two are made of briar, but one appears to be made from some sort of tree branch. The maker's markings on the top pipe (in the 1st and 3rd photos) are as follows: The left side of the shank is marked SHORT SNORTER and the right side of the shank is marked IMPORTED BRIAR | The pipe in the middle (of the 1st and 3rd photos) has a red and yellow sticker attached to the bottom of the bowl which reads: Buescher's World Famous PIPES U.S.A. | The pipe in the bottom of (the 1st and 3rd) photos is marked as follows: The top of the shank is marked Butz Choquin with the number 93 followed by the word Gentleman below the maker's name. The bottom of the shank is marked ST CLAUDE FRANCE . All three pipes are about the same size - about 3 3/4" in length. To me, the Butz Choquin pipe is the nicer of the three and appears to be extremely well taken care of. If it was smoked, then it may have only been a couple of times at the most, as it is in very nice/clean condition. The Buescher's Pipe appears to be new and unsmoked, yet it is a vintage pipe. The Short Snorter pipe appears to have been enjoyed over the years. Its bit has a few tooth marks, as well as some crazing, and its tobacco chamber exhibits some scorching/darkening from having been previously lit and the interior of its bowl denotes that this pipe was certainly enjoyed. All three pipes have the usual 'draw hole' at the bottom of their respective tobacco chambers and they all appear to 'draw air' just fine...although I have not smoked any of them myself. Note : The majority of the tobacco pipes I have listed/will be listing were displayed upon numerous pipe racks lining various shelves in my father's study for many years. I am sure that many of these tobacco pipes date back to the 70s, 60s, and possibly even before that? I also have a few new tobacco pipes which I had purchased for him as gifts and which I know he had never smoked. As I get to them, I will be listing those as well. Also, as I sell the pipes from them, I will also be listing those numerous vintage pipe racks which once lined the shelves of my father's study...so, please keep checking back.
